Starting Out To begin, participants will learn the basics of QuickBooks: how to open and close it, how to use the interface, how to use the EasyStep Interview, how to create and save files, and how to get help. Participants will also receive an introduction to basic accounting concepts.
Entering Company Data Next, participants will learn how to enter data using the Chart of Accounts, the Item List, and the Journal.
Adding Vendors, Customers, and Employees This section will explore the Vendor Center, Customer Center, and Employee Center.
Working with Sales Participants will learn how to: create and use sales receipts, record customer payments, write off bad debts, and set up and manage finance charges.
Dealing with Customers This section will take an in-depth look at invoices and credit memos.
Managing Your Business In this section, participants will learn how to perform basic transactions (such as writing a check or recording a deposit), pay bills, and use the Loan Manager.
Vendor Activities Participants will learn how to manage inventory, vendor expenses, and purchase orders.
Working with Bank Accounts This section will explore key aspects of managing your bank account, including how to use the undeposited funds account, manage petty cash, do online banking, and manage credit cards using QuickBooks.
The Business of Doing Business Participants will learn how to use QuickBooks to stay organized and on top of accounts receivable. We will also look at class tracking and managing NSF payments.
Using Estimates This section will explore creating, customizing, memorizing, duplicating, modifying, and e-mailing estimates. Participants will also learn how to convert estimates to an invoice, sale, or purchase order.
Planning and Forecasting In this section, participants will learn how to create a budget and a forecast using QuickBooks. Participants will also learn how to use the Cash Flow Projector Wizard.
Working with Payroll (I and II) These two sections will explore all aspects of payroll, including QuickBooks' Payroll Services, tracking liabilities, tracking time, working with contractors, and creating paychecks.
System Security This section will explore how to manage QuickBooks data; set up QuickBooks for multiple users; import, export, back up, and restore files; and create an accountant's copy.
Advanced Account Tasks Next, participants will learn how to use asset, liability, and equity accounts; prepare sales tax; and wrap things up at year's end.
Using the Business Planner Participants will learn how to use the Business Planner to generate reports, graphs, and a business plan.
Supplemental Checklists To conclude the course, participants will receive daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual checklists to help them keep on top of QuickBooks tasks.
